John (Nick) Ferguson serves as Outreach Director for NHCOS’ Food Distribution Center. He has over 20 years of community service. He served as President of the St. Charles Boys and Girls Youth Organization for 15 years. Under his leadership, he developed partnerships and sponsors for families whose children were interested, but unable to financially support their efforts. He also worked as the Athletic Director and Head Coach for the Boys & Girls Elementary and Middle School Basketball and Track teams at Wheatley Education Campus.
Nick has a passion for interacting and working with all people (especially youths). After 25 years of service, he retired as a Health and Physical Education teacher in the D.C. Public School System. He also tutored students in Math and Reading. He earned a B.S. degree in Health, Physical Education & Recreation from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. When Nick isn’t serving the community, he enjoys sports entertainment and spending time with his wife (Peggy), their three children, and five grandchildren.
